Grenoble...The heart of the Alps

Grenoble, at the heart of the Rhone-Alps region in southeast France, is in the Isère department and holds a strategic position as the crossroads between northern and southern Europe.

157 900 people live in the city and 425 650 live in the greater Grenoble area (34 cities).

The city is surrounded by three mountain chains : Chartreuse, Vercors and Belledonne.

By Plane

To come by plane, you have 3 possibilities

• Arrived by Lyon Saint-Exupery Airport and take a direct bus from Airport to Grenoble (1 hour)
• Arrived by Paris Charles de Gaule Airport and take a direct TGV to Grenoble (3 hours)
• Arrived by Geneve Airport and take a direct bus to Grenoble (2h15)

By train

Several daily connections with Europe's big cities :

Grenoble-Paris : 7 direct TGV high speed trains, in 3 hours
Grenoble-Lille-Bruxelles : 1 TGV high speed train per week, in 5.5 hours
Grenoble-Paris-Cologne : 4 TGV high speed trains per day, in 8 hours 
Grenoble-Turin-Milan : 3 round trips per day

Accomodation

The conference take place in Science Po Grenoble which is not in the center of Grenoble ("Bibliotheque Universitaire" on the Map).To come to the conference, you can take a hotel just near the conference, or (we recommand that) to take an hotel in the downtown near the tramway (Green line) which take you directly to the conference in 15 mn.
